Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician and singer from Canada. [2][3] The range of her music from the beginning is described as "lo the fi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". Her music has added elements from hip hop, electronic and rock. Many of her lyrics touch on science-fiction themes as well as feminist issues. Grimes has recorded five albums. Grimes is a native of Vancouver and later moved to Montreal. She started her independently-based music career in the mid decade. In 2010 she debuted two albums through Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Following her contracting with 4AD the band gained the charts with Visions, her third studio album. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". It was also the recipient of the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album received high marks from reviewers and numerous journals voted it as the best album. [6] Her fifth album, Miss Anthropocene, was released in 2020. Aside from the music industry, Grimes had a voice character in the 2020 gaming action Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge for the music competition game show Alter Ego. Georges Georges Grimes
