Morgan Smith

The graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University as well as Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan was a Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) in 2001. He made his debut on stage in the role of Donald on stage in Billy Budd. A great favorite in Seattle Mr. Smith has performed roles in 12 different productions since the debut. These include his most famous role as Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani as well as Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes Electra. A regular on the stage for concerts with the Seattle Symphony, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and was also featured with an orchestra from the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien und Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral adaptation of the beloved work by Brahms. Other concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle; Mass that is in C Minor from Mozart as well as the Mass with G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass Numerous Cantatas, and Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah and L'Allegro, il Penseroso and Il Moderato and Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
